The film is due to be shown to a public audience for the first time on December 7 at the Cinéma du Panthéon in Paris at the same time as the upcoming United Nations climate talks. "While Climate Hustle claims to feature interviews with scientists, Morano fails to explain that these characters are not among the respected mainstream climate science community, but rather a collection of washed-up scientists with no expertise in climate science, or a biased view based on ideological or industry-funded bias," writes DeSmogBlog, which has created a new website "Climate Hustler" to expose the truth about the film and Morano's climate change denial. Amid Controversy, Ben Carson Named ALEC Event Speaker Ben Carson Following a week of controversies about claims made by presidential candidate Ben Carson, the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC) has announced that he will be one of their keynote speakers at the ALEC "States and Nation Policy Summit" in Scottsdale, Arizona, in December. Ford Revealed as Funder of Climate Denial Group ALEC 270 Ford Motor Company, despite its much-hyped commitment to the environment, has been quietly funding the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC), a group widely criticized for its promotion of climate change denial and for its opposition to the development of renewable alternatives to fossil fuels. A Ford spokesperson, Christin Baker, confirmed the ALEC grant to the Center for Media and Democracy/PRWatch, but said that the funding was not intended to be used by ALEC to block action on climate change. Craig Use Private Email, Too Wisconsin Republicans have been caught in the spin cycle with their latest attack on the state's independent, nonpartisan Government Accountability Board (GAB), which oversees elections and ethics. The GAB, which is led by a board of retired judges appointed by the governor, has been widely regarded as a national model for nonpartisan election administration. But this week the Republican-led legislature seeks to dismantle it as payback for investigating Governor Scott Walker.
